With its 44 year history of academic excellence and strong Christian values, Clinton Christian has never sought the spotlight. Yet on Saturday, with hundreds in attendance and numerous area schools represented, their win thrust them into the forefront and left many wondering more about the small private Christian school. The inquisitive even included Prince George’s County Executive, Jack Johnson who has sin/files/Files/2nd place Erica Scott with Jack Johnson.jpgce requested a site visit to the school. “When the third place winner was announced, I was overjoyed” said Clinton Christian School’s Chief Administrator, Jason Ottley in Tuesday morning chapel following the Expo. “Then, as second and first place were also awarded to our students, I was ecstatic, wondering if Prince George’s County understood what just happened. Here we are this small school that most people have never heard of yet we have so much to offer. We were speechless, realizing God is still in control.” The winning students were humbled and excited by the success of their poems. Takeah Ford ( ’10) remembered, “When the finalists were announced, there were three of us from Clinton Christian and one student from another school. I never expected to win first place. It was definitely a surprise and a blessing that our school won all three awards.” Clinton Christian School seeks to be a distinctively Christian, academically excellent educational institution for the purpose of assisting families in their God-given responsibility to train their children in a God-centered world view with the goal being to equip them for lifelong service in ministry or in the marketplace.
